Alex Verner is an award-winning director known for creating visually striking, honest films across documentary and commercial formats.

His work has appeared on National Geographic, BBC, Sky, RTÉ, and ESPN, with clients including UFC, Goodyear, Land Rover, Formula E, and DHL.

Alex’s recent documentary, Christy Brown: Self Portrait, featuring Saoirse Ronan, was praised as a defining RTÉ film, offering a raw and intimate portrait of one of Ireland’s most complex artists.

His approach is grounded in integrity — focusing on strong, evocative visuals and a clear respect for the subject, without overcomplicating the process.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Alex Verner is an award-winning Director/DP known for high-end documentary filmmaking across broadcast and digital platforms.

His career began in Southern Africa, working on blue-chip natural history films for National Geographic and the BBC. Today, his work spans arts, martial arts, and artificial intelligence. Alex collaborates regularly with Colm Tóibín, directs for UFC’s Countdown series, and developed groundbreaking A.I. content with Audi and Imperial College London – leading to a credited paper in Nature.

His latest documentary, Christy Brown: Self Portrait (RTÉ, 2024), featuring Saoirse Ronan and narrated by Aidan Gillen, was widely praised as a defining exploration of Brown’s life and work.
